eusti Die Liebe Tanzt is the standout song here... Good versions, each one of them... Don’t care too much about the two cover versions... Passenger is ok. Junimond doesn’t do it at all for me. All in all a worthwhile and enjoyable album though. Better than the triple 3 EPs. 👍👍👍 Favorite track: Die Liebe tanzt (wie VNV-N Remix).

Was it really necessary for Purwien & Kowa to record yet another album? Hadn't the previous albums Zwei (Two) and Drei (Three) failed dramatically to take over the world of music? But maybe these two unwise guys had never had that in mind. Maybe their plan was something entirely different.

Let's have a look at their album with the very surprising title: Vier (Four).
The Passenger is a good indicator for what to expect, because it's an unexpected minimal cover of Iggy-Pop's classic, recorded in Hong Kong. The video was also shot in the formerly British Colony, only barely avoiding arrest. Then comes Silence, the album's synth-pop song. If it weren't for the other synth-pop songs, like Desert for instance. In all this excitement we completely forgot about the first single Die Liebe Tanzt (Love dances), rather a shame, since you can listen to it here as an extra-long album version, for which producer Steffen Neuhaus really gave his all.

The same goes for Bianca Stücker & Rafaela Schützner, a.k.a. BRS.
The breezy relaxed dance track Summe aller Teile (Sum of all parts) embodies the intention of the album and should have been first in the track list. But what are you going to do, if the other songs all skip to the front of the queue? After that When love is gone blares from the speakers, as if Italo disco was hot shit once again, only for Werd ich... (I will...) to pick up the pieces.

Junimond (The moon in June) then is a Rio Reiser cover that we cheekily dress up as an 80s icon. After that it's still Nicht genug (Not enough) and the Silence (wie DM Remix) will blast into your ears and almost sounds as though Depeche Mode still produced great tunes. After Die Liebe tanzt (wie VNV-N Remix) your eardrums will finally have left the building.

The new album Vier by Purwien & Kowa is coming out on 31/07/2020 for download and CD. The compulsory, accompanying book, Tausche Ehe Minus gegen Freundschaft Plus (I swap marriage minus for friendship plus) will be presented to the world on 25/09/2020. At least if God, Buddha and Donald Trump will it to be so.
